The Engadin La Diagonela was born from the vision of strengthening the region's tourism potential with a top event. Personalities from the worlds of sport, politics and tourism joined forces to create a cross-country skiing event in January, a month with few major events.

Every year on the third weekend in January, the Engadin La Diagonela takes participants on an impressive journey through the wintry Engadin. With routes that lead along picturesque trails from Pontresina to Zuoz, the race offers something for every cross-country skiing enthusiast.

Its inclusion in the Ski Classics series has catapulted La Diagonela onto the international cross-country skiing podium. The participation of the world's best cross-country skiers ensures extensive media coverage for the event, which is supported by local television stations such as Tele Top and Schweizer Sport TV and by radio and television broadcasts during the event week
